I had to laugh because I was sure it wasn't you . . . while quilting with my sister yesterday we were both so hot and she pulled her shirt off and just threw it over her head. Of course I couldn't do that because I didn't have a bra on and her husband is a farmer and in and out all day. You know that if you don't wear a bra that you won't show wrinkles, right?

Thanks for looking into the pattern I was looking for!
I made a quilt top with the boy fabric from the pattern that other lady told me, horizontal strips, very pretty! I will post pictures when done
After I've cut the binding and backing I had enough left over to make "your" pattern!
I used 2 fabrics, put them in a checkerboard pattern like yours in your album, made the blocks 6" unfinished.
It is becoming very cute!!!!
Now to the question......
How do you get those lines so perfect????
I was thinking using that same style, otherwise it will be just around the blocks, I am a straight line quilter.....

If you can help me out I would be very happy!!

Hi auntiemern, I had seen someone mention 81 yards of fabric awhile back but wasn't sure of the story. After your post to me today I did a search and found the pictures of your great bargain......holy cow! You must have been beside yourself with excitment! I'm hoping to do a black & white quilt someday after I add to my pile. After I decide what to do & how much I need of my white/black print......I will keep you in mind if I don't need all of it! Thanks for the welcome to the forum. And, yes, I do love making rag quilts! I really like that rag quilts are so forgiving in terms of sewing. Wonderful way for me to enter the world of quilting. It took me a couple times to really get the look and feel I wanted. The biggest key I found to nice rag quilts is really good flannel. Finding good fabric isn't easy where I live in Quebec (or maybe, I am just a spoiled American who is used to a much bigger selection!), so I am learning how to buy fabric online. At first, I thought . . . how could anyone buy fabric without seeing or touching it?!? But I am getting the hang of it.

ps- I miss St. Louis!!
