I just visited Hamilton today, and saw the new shop. Got an idea as I drove away, I saw some concrete block patches on the side of the building, must have been some windows in there at one time, now closed with concrete blocks. Maybe you already thought of this, but I thought how cool it would be to have quilt block designs painted on those patches.
I lived in Cuba, Mo for a number of years, and they started to beautify the rather ugly sides of their old buildings with murals. The murals are historical or depict motifs based on the local economy. It has made the town so beautiful. I've posted a link to the Cuba Murals so you can see what they did. They started this in 2000. They used local, national and international artists to paint the murals.

The Gold Star Boys mural is my favorite. The Frisco Railroad line used to go through town, taking passengers to their destination. Cuba was a destination for decades, being close to Meramec River resorts. My parents used to go there in their young days. The boys in this picture are Cuba men who left to fight in WWII.
