thank yous in order
to everyone here i would like to say thank you. i mostly lurk here because i don't really know anyone. there have been a few of you that have sent me a private message welcoming me here and encouraging me to post. i come in daily and read about everyone and their sewing. i am still learning to sew. have not even started to quilt on a machine yet. i watch all of jennys tutorials and get all excited. more than sewing i enjoy coming in at different times and see names that are familiar to me and bring a smile to my face. thank you blondie for being such a happy and kind person and encouraging me to not worry about what others think. i would like to be in your family. thank you sandy for having such good advice to everyone. thank you toggpine for haveing such energy to take care of so many people. thank you bubby for starting a blog. i enjoy looking at your pretty creations.

Re: thank yous in order
Patience, so glad you have decided to join in the fun! The only way for us to get to know you is for you to jump in and talk with us, I didn't know anyone when I first joined either.
Once you get into quilting you will be addicted just like the rest of us.
Welcome.

Re: thank yous in order
So glad you stopped lurking and decided to speak out. My oh my, how u need to get on that machine and just start sewing. Once you start quilting you will find a life long passion and addiction. I know that some of it looks so difficult, so start out with a simple 4 patch or nine patch. I have been quilting for years and have yet to make a quilt without imperfections. Seams that just don't line up, stars with points cut off. But I do it for the love of simply making something for someone else. And have never gotten a complaint about anything I have ever made. There are peeps on here that have made spectacular quilts there first time out. So get your rotary cutter out and just go for it. Oh yes and welcome to the best quilting forum on the web. :)

Re: thank yous in order
Patience,
I am glad that you decided to speak up and get to know us! I certainly don't do any more than any of the other ladies and gentlemen here! This group of quilters is absolutely a fabulous community. I am always amazed at how some of these folks manage to get any sewing in with all of the other things going on in their lives!
Please keep dropping in and letting us know how you are coming along on your sewing! Just keep plugging away at it and more importantly have fun!

Girl. . . . Hop on that machine!!!! Just remember you are never quilting alone, there is such a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be shared with you! I do think you should prepare your family though; cause once you get going with your quilting, they might just have to start fending for themselves!!!

Re: thank yous in order
Welcome, do not be afraid of your machine. Do start off with the nine patch. I was once told not worry about getting things perfect, no one is perfect, the Amish alway have something imperfect in their quilts. The things were see as wrong as creative designs

Re: thank yous in order
Patience,
Welcome!!! I too am a bit of a lurker. I see you are from South Carolina also. I'm in the upstate, where are you? If we are close, I'd be glad to help any way I can. Honestly, I don't post often, but I am so grateful for this group. They have helped me through a life adjustment (smile) and they don't even realize they have been angels to me. Opps I suppose they know now. Anyway, welcome and give me a shout.
Keep smiling and sewing and planning and dreaming.....and on and on

Hiya Patience. How happy I am to see you posting a bit more! See my big old toothy smile? Just as the others have said, jump in feet first and sew. Come back on here and share when you can.
Thanks for leaving some comments on my pic albums as well.
You are in such good company, I know you can feel the love and concern we share for each other. I am not an only child, I have bunches of sisters and brothers, here. I just have a big mouth sometimes. That's family, sweetie.
