    Default My First Class

Well, I taught my first quilting class today. It was so much fun! They are working on a fence rail and doing a great job. I'm glad I went with the fence rail because it's great for getting that 1/4 inch seam down. It was at my home so it was kind of fun watching my place turn into a sewing center. Ironing boards in the kitchen Dining table turned to seat more people and running an extension cord on the table for the machines to pug into. And the cutting table near the table. I had blocks hanging from the stair rail displaying the blocks they will be making. I also made up a notebook with directions and picture of each of the quilts. They seem to have a good time and I think that is what quilting is all about. : )

Good for YOU... I am so happy you are Teaching.. what was the age group? I guess it doesn't matter as long as we keep passing on to others the FUN of making Quilts. Wish I could have been a little mouse in the corner to see what ya all were doin. Huggs and keep teaching.

How many quilters did you have? Was there a requirement that they know how to sew? Gosh, hoping you post photos of their completed projects. Will you be teaching them SITD? What fun!

I plan on getting pictures of their projects. 4 signed up for the class and 2 came so I need to find out about the other two. Still, a lot of fun. There were no requirements except a sewing machine but Some don't have them. So I'm glad I have an extra. I'll either do stitch in a ditch or grid quilting. : )

This sounds like fun! I would love to come too but......it's a bit far to travel. Really sounds like fun and hope it takes off for you. I think you will love doing it.
