You will not be sorry! My LQS has had several classes and I have enjoyed each one. Learned a lot, made "quilty" friends, and did more than I thought I could! Be sure to give us updates.

I've taken some and enjoyed them all. Would love to say that I've mastered FMQ through the 3 classes that I've taken but haven't had much of a chance to practice what I've learned. Enjoy.

Have a great time! One shop I go to has beginner and intermediate classes. I think right now, I'm somewhere in between, so I don't know which one to sign up for.

Good for you! Although tutorials online are wonderful, you will get personal help at yur class and meet some quilters. The Log Cabin is such a fun and interesting quilt to make....so many options when it comes time to put your blocks together. I have taken many quilting classes and have never regretted it. I have to drive over 2 1/2 hours to take classes in Springfield and have never regretted the time or the expense of the trip. Have fun and enjoy!! Barb

I wish I had a LQS that did things like that...scratch that I wish I had a LQS period. The ones that are supposedly close to us are striving to hard to be like Joanns and Michaels and not like a LQS. Hope you have a great time at your class and learn lots of interesting stuff

I think most beginner classes cover basics like rotary cutting, etc. I think you probably have that mastered Jean. If you are in doubt, ask the people at the quilt shop, they should be happy to tell you.

My LQS has a whole variety of classes. I've taken a number of them and learn something new at each one. It's fun to interact with all the people you meet, see all the varieties of fabric that each person chooses for the project, and even if you don't finish the whole project at that class, when you take one at your LQS someone is always there to help if you get stuck when you're finishing the project at home. The ladies who work at my LQS are the best -- they are really a big help if I'm having trouble coming up with an idea, choosing fabric, and it's great to just spend time chatting. I've had a wonderful experience taking classes at my LQS. Have fun!!
