Hancock Fabrics
Well, I finally had a mother's day out with no tag alongs and no children all by my grown-up self. Went to Hancock Fabrics. I probably make it there twice a year, and some of you may be aware they are having a very nice sale on notions and fabric. Exactly what I am looking for!
Unfortunately, I waited until the last day of the sale. And when I got there I could not believe how ransacked it was. There was very little left. It almost looked like they were having a 70% off closing sale. I wanted to spend spend spend, but left some elastic and a quilting pounce. *sigh* This is just my luck. Has this ever happened to any of you?
I looked at the fabric but it seemed only ugly fabric was left. I am wondering if it is just me. I just seem to be in a slump and I thought shopping would spur it back into action.

Re: Hancock Fabrics
I never have any problem finding something to buy from Hancock. It is 1 mile from my house, very dangerous to have it so close!

Re: Hancock Fabrics
Sorry to hear you couldn't find anything from Hancock's on your day out !!! While Jo-Ann's is about 10 miles from my home, I probably visit there more than I should.....believe me, it's dangerous ! The employees know me by name and if I don't go there for a few days they always inquire why I haven't been there LOL !
Jo-Ann's has a $1.99 shipping sale......but I managed to not look at anything online this week-end. I did purchase something from MSQC though...

Re: Hancock Fabrics
I sometimes leave Hancock's empty handed. Lots of times what I intended to buy is excluded from the coupons. I am often disappointed that their quilting fabric choices are not as exciting and rich looking as the brand name fabric we get at M* and the LQS. But sometimes I do get lucky. Sunday I went with coupons in my hot little hand. I bought warm and natural batting for half price, plus 15% off, and some nice turquoise blender cotton for 4.49 per yard. I was planning to get some of the batiks for 65% off, but the blender caught my eye, instead. It looks sort of like a batik.
The cashier saw my Kaffe Fassett jelly roll samples that I had brought to try to match, and remarked that she had yardage of one of them. I spread out the rest of them and she ooh'ed and aah'ed over them. At least she appreciated nice fabric.

Re: Hancock Fabrics
I was able to use my 60% off coupon from Hancock to get some much needed Kona solid white at JoAnn's. Wish I would have printed off an extra coupon or 2 to get some other colors.

Re: Hancock Fabrics
I shop at Hancock's only occasionally. I feel the quality of their fabrics is not as good as my LQS or M*. I have used my coupons for rotary cutter blades, etc. Once got a new cutting mat for 50% off. Let's just say it's not my favorite place to shop.
