Default Pillows for a fussy co-worker. What would you do?

A coworker keeps HOUNDING me to make pillow covers for her sofa. (She can't find what she wants in the stores, but has the perfect fabric in mind.)
The problem? Any contractor, caterer, cake designer, painter (yadda, yadda...) she's ever hired, she finds fault with. And goes on, and ON about the tiniest flaw.
    (Rags to riches scenario....)
I'm always up for a challenge, but I'm dragging my feet on this one!
(Short of telling her, 'No Way! I've heard your contractor stories'... )
    TURF it, right?

I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Yep!, especially since she's a coworker. You would either never hear the end of it or she would tell other coworkers about the "flaws". I would say it's not worth it. Unless you love a challenge, then go for it!

Ummmm, speaking from personal experience Sue, I'd drop that like a hot potato!!!! Have an acquaintance much like you describe.....the most meticulous work, always in her eyes has some horrible flaw. I'd sweetly say I had a lot on my plate and won't be able to get to it for, oh say a millennia?!?!?! LOL!

Find a sewist in your area and give her a card with their business card inside, go back to work and smile at her all the time.

Telling her what you just typed about "I have heard your contractor stories" is perfect. Tell her "sorry, I can't live up up your standards" but say it as a joke...... serious but joking.

In past years when I had a drapery business I often had people wanting me to make slip covers. I despise making slipcovers even though I can. I would tell them, in a joking manner, that I only did those for people I loved and I did not love them that much.

Run, don't walk! No win here for you! Tell her you'll teach her how to do them because you don't have time!

A lady at church wanted me to put a zipper into her ready made purse! Thankfully, I am way too busy to do that!

Run.....run fast! Just tell her you can't do it. We don't want you to end up on the news!

I don't think I would do it! I would probably tell her that I know she expects perfection, as her home is lovely, (blah, blah, blah), and that I sew for enjoyment not perfection. You might look in the phone book an find her a local 'seamtstress' or someone she could take her fabric to.

Unless you're really up to the challenge of hearing about it forever, run don't walk!
