    Default Moving to new room

Well, thank you to all who had suggestions on lighting for my sewing room. DD ended up puting up lights on a track that can moved if not in the right place. NOW, it's time to move old room down to new room. UGH, you don't realize how much you have until a move. All viewable items have been moved and am just about done with getting those items set up. Now, just need to move what's in the closet - lots (but never enough) material and the shelving it sits on. Very exciting - happy sewing days ahead!

It may be a lot of work but moving to a new sewing space is totally exciting!! Be sure to post pictures along the way.

    So Worth it!!!!
I moved my "sewing stuff"3 times until i finally got my own room... best thing i've ever done... now that we are both retired it wonderful to a place to go and just be creative... walk away and back anytime i want!! Even at 30 am if i'm just not able to sleep... it's at the other end of the house, so i bother no one) and once you have all your "stash" where you can always see it.. you just go from one project on to the next... I will say though, that my new method is to FINISH before i start anything new)GB

I am in the process of moving from downstairs to the bonus room upstairs. Set up my SR2 frame and moved sewing tables and cutting table. Only my husband and I live here now and only guests would use the bonus room anyway so I claimed it as mine. Still getting storage in place (need more). Will retire in 1 year and 11 months and want to have large stash in place before I become fixed income. My husband retied 3 years ago so I know what I am in for. Need this space to be creative and keep me sane. Everyone needs a space to go to and my husband has had one of the bedrooms as his Karaoke room for years. Now I get mine.

For the applique blanket stitch, there is a Ricky Tims youtube vid that helped me a lot. I will try to get you a link.
