    Default Quilt clubs opinions

Does anyone participate in quilt clubs online...where you subscribe, pay a monthly fee, and receive a product each month? I know Fat Quarter Shop has several clubs you can join for thread, fabric, and patterns but I've seen them at other online stores, I just can't recall the sites right now.

Just wondering how people feel about them.

No, can't afford it, and half of what they send I have no use for.

You need to watch the price some are really high. I did a block of the month for a year. I still haven't started putting that quilt together yet.

That's what I was worried about. I have avoided them because I don't want to get a bunch of stuff that I don't really need or have no use for.

No, but I agree with Shirley, I think it is too expensive for me and I like to pick my own fabrics. My stash is so full now that I cannot add to it with a club. Doesn't mean I don't order DD though. LOL

    Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto.

Save your money, pick your own pattern, pick your own fabrics and sew when you want to.

I think as with all clubs, makeup, book, BOM they send a small amount of what you like, some of what is so so and a lot of which doesn't interest you. I would much rather spend the money and get exactly what i want/need.

I subscribe to several of the Fat Quarter Shops monthly items, I live in the boonies and quilt shops are far away from me, closest one is 1.5 hrs away and IMHO Joanns doesn't qualify, but that is another subject.

Moda Charm Pack Club- I get 4 moda charm packs a month and many can be combined to make nice size items.
Designer Select FQ Club- 12 FQ from a different designer every month.
Solid FQ Club- The 12 FQ colorways are selected based on cities like Barcelona, Paris, etc, combine them with the designer selects and you have a good size quilt, VERY LOVELY!!
Batik FQ CLUB-12 FQ Hoffman Batiks (I believe) and I loveeeeeeee batiks!!!
I also ordered the Frivols for the year with the completion sets that include backing and binding.

For me I would rather shop from home and not have to deal with driving so far to get what I need/ want. I do love to go to quilt stores and I do stop at them when they are along my way to my daughters etc... , but that is not very often and I am planning for the time when I retire and funds may be less cooperative, I will have lots of lovely fabric to keep me busy, I love everything I have received so far and love combining the different lines to make quilts.

Well, I have thought about joining a Block of the month... Where they send the kit for the block each month.

But, thats about it... I thought about it.
