Patterns for solids
I need suggestions of patterns using solids. I have over 20 fat quarters and a stash of yardage ( mostly blues and greens) of Bella Solids. I like making throw sized quilts , play mats , and table runners. I am not great at snowballing blocks and so so with triangles.
This week I finished two UFO's . As soon as I finish one more or get borders and back of one more I'll let myself start a new project.

Re: Patterns for solids
Off the top of my head, these come to mind: Disappearing 9-Patch, Rail Fence, Summer in the Park, Warm Wishes (a variation of rail fence), Circles of Comfort like Blondie donates to charities, Square in a Square, Magic Squares, 4-Patch, Topiary Tiles, Binding Tool Star. I'm sure the possibilities are endless. Just check out Jenny's tutorials. Look through some of the albums here or on Quilts by Me.

What about the Broken Bars quilt from Jenny's tutorials? Or a table runner with dresdens similar to the quilt Lori showed.

Re: Patterns for solids
I used this pattern with jelly roll solids: Christa?s Quilt Along 1.1 ? The Jolly Jelly Roll Quilt Supply List | Christa Quilts I think this would be adaptable to fat quarters.
This is a picture of the flimsy. I haven't sandwiched and quilted - yet. I also could not finish the border as instructed - quilter error!

The lone star would be stunning in solids. Quilt Smart has an interfacing type product that simplifies this y seam issue so there are only y seams on the outline of the star.

Re: Patterns for solids
Thank you all for the great ideas ! I think I will try Broken Bars and then Hula's Postcard . now off to tackle some UFO chores. I do so love starting projects-- choosing fabric, cutting and piecing. When it comes to borders, backs and quilting not so much. My UFO pile is huge.

Re: Patterns for solids
Lorie, do you have measurements for the modern square quilt. I want to make it - some day.
