I don't know if this might help but when I start a project I go ahead and make the binding. I cut, press and join the strips and hang them on a rod near the door to the sewing room. Right now there are three hanging there ready if the quilt ever gets ready. I usually add any left over stirps in case the quilt gets bigger than I expected.

This is my life cause I get interrupted so often. But my BFF taught me years ago to cut my binding early on in the project and wrap it around a piece of heavy cardboard roll ( she gave me one and I think it may have come from aluminum foil)
Anyway, I wrap it around the roll and place it on top of the desk in my sewing room. It's there till I am done!!

Kathe, LOL, ummm can't tell you how many times I've done this, cut more only to find the MIA binding when finished. That's a real kick in the pants, ya know? BUT good news is, I now have another big clear candy store jar that I store them in. Easy to find now!
Don't worry if plan A fails, there are 25 more letters in the alphabet!!

My husband has found squares everywhere in this house. I sat on some and stuck to my pants, looked for 20 min. Got on hands and knees looking the floor over. He gives me a love pat (so I thought) and I turned around to find the lost squares in his hand!

I use the project bin method also. I put everything in it I will need for the project. I have a label on the side so I know which project it is. If I am using purchased binding I put it in the covered bin also. If I am making the binding, I put the fabric for it in the bin. If I don't do this I will be hunting or reordering something before I can finish the project. Hope you find your binding. I am looking for invisible thread I purchased for a UFO, it must really be invisible because I can't find it. Had to reorder.
