    Default I love coupons

I have a heavy sewing machine and have only taken it to one 2-day class. So, when I got a 60% coupon for Joann's, I used it today to get a rolling sewing machine tote for my machine. Regular price $89.99, after coupon and tax $38.43. I was a happy camper. While there, I asked about their fabric cutting policy and she said it was their policy to not cut more than one cut off the same bolt for one person, but if it was not busy they would do it anyway. She said the reason they had to do it was because some people take it to the extreme, like asking for 12 one quarter yd cuts off the same bolt.

I still don't get that policy. You cut what ever the customer wants. Better to sell the bolt in 1/4 yard increments to the same person the not at all. Just mark it custom cut not returnable and be done with it. Thats how we did it in the rag shop.

Good get! I used my 60% off coupon to buy a quilt book I've been really wanting.

I worked at Joann's for a while. One woman bought 5 yds of pink tulle and had the gal working the cutting table cut it into 1/8 yard pieces so she could use it for her daughter's wedding. Have you ever tried cutting tulle? It was a crazy mess! I think that's why they made the no-cutting policy!
