    Default Not My Day

Started a new project today. I had to walk away from it for the day.

    So far I've:

Sliced my finger open with my Martelli rotary cutter. Seriously...they need to redesign that barely covering blade cover for people as accident prone as I am.

Ironed my interfacing to my ironing board.

Managed to get said interfacing on my iron plate.

Cut pieces from the wrong fabric. Luckily I have enough to fix this but still...

One of my dogs (the only baby that loves me most!!) likes to lay on my feet. He did so the entire time I was trying to cut and iron fabric. Moving him resulted in him shifting and scratching his talons of death across my foot.

I am done for the day. I'm going to go find a book to read.

Wow hope your finger is okay! Your iron too.

I hate those days, best to step back and regroup. Hope you find a good book to read.

Speaking from experience, walking away for a little bit is the best thing you can do. There will be better days to come.

Sometimes you need to know when to cut your losses. Reading a book? Excellent choice.

Oh gosh, that sounds painful. Look at the bright side, nothing else can go wrong. Best to rest and avoid sharp objects for the rest of the day.

Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?

When everything that can go wrong does go wrong, it's time to walk away and refresh yourself. Thing will work better when you go back. I hope you heal up from your cutter cut quickly. ((HUGS))

    Panda, some days we are not meant to be near sharp or hot implements. Hope your finger is ok....I've got a Martelli blade too and one thing I noticed, if it's meant for alot of fabric, it is great; but using it for a few becomes dangerous!!! Best to walk away like you did. Tomorrow is another day and another chance. {hugs}

I have a new Martelli and will now know to be extra careful with it. Need scissors that hang around my neck, I guess, I now have 2 good pair missing. Cannot keep up with them.
You are very wise to know when to put it aside for another day. I do the same myself. When I taught school I knew early in the day if I would have one of those days and rewrote my lesson plans to avoid more misery. LOL Just wing it some days...play it safe and just coast through the day. Good Luck with the rest of your day.
Oh, I saw my first snake for this gardening season today. But, it was a black snake, non-poisonous! Phew!

Peek outside. See that big truck with the hose? Look closely - the sign on the side says WINE . . . with my compliments.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
