Default What I did on my D.C. vacation

Yes, there were monuments and museums and restaurants, but really, what's a quilter to do while vacationing? I'm so glad I brought my baby travelling machine. My DS#2 was so sick he was on the couch the entire week. I stayed with him some of the time while the family went sight-seeing. I could not leave him alone all day even though he is an adult. So, I sewed! I have most of a king-sized quilt done. It's purdy. Hopefully I'll get to show it to you soon.

BTW, Jacob is still very sick. 15 hours in the ER last Monday, 7 more hours today and still they don't know what's wrong with him, though they suspect it is possibly Lyme Disease. Those test results come back on Wednesday. We're all just hoping it is a weird virus that will soon pack it's bags and leave town. It is not welcome here.

Sorry to hear your son is not doing well, I am sure they will find the issue soon. Good you brought your machine. I would have gone crazy sitting in the hotel room.

Since there were 12 of us going, we rented a small house big enough for us. It was a wonderful place, very light and airy and clean. We had not seen DH's mom for a while and got to visit her. She is 95 and in an assisted care facility. She did not remember us but kept telling Jonas, "You look familiar, like someone I know." We will have to take Jacob back again as that is the one thing he really regrets about being sick, not seeing his beloved grandmother.

Cyndi I'm so sorry your son is sick and you really didn't get to vacation.I've been to vegas once in my life and my Dd was sick the whole time also.(oh well).I hope your son gets well soon,he doesn't have a ring like rash does he ? there is a new disease that some ticks are carrying this year.lyme disease is often missed at first, hopefully it is just a bug and will leave.

Wise of you to take along your travel machine, Cyndi. I'm sorry to hear your son is still ill. I hope it passes soon. I bet you're glad you guys rented a house. Being sick in a hotel room is no picnic. Been there, done that and not long ago.

Oh I hope it's not Lymes......I had it 6 years ago and it changed life as I knew it.

FYI, not everyone has a rash with Lymes. I didn't. If my doc hadn't tested for anything that had my symptoms they would not have found mine. I never even saw the tick

Sorry to hear about Jacob. I hope the test doesn't come back Lyme Disease. We see a lot of it around here and it can knock a person low for a while. I know you missed a lot of sightseeing, but thankfully you had a sewing machine to help pass the time.
