Hello everyone,
With having to work yesterday and last night being Hollys first Prom I have been swamped. I'm just getting around to telling you all about my day at the paducah quilt show.
I went with my ever so crazy sister Kim and a lifelong friend. We actually went to way more places than I realized were even there. We shopped books, patterns and fabric before we ever got to see the quilts.
Then we headed over to the "bubble" as I call it. While we were there I first met up with Marsha aka mommamarsh. What a wonderful lady she is. I am so glad I didn't give up in trying to meet. When it comes to trying to meet people in such a kaotic place it can be hard but it was well worth it.
A bit later I met up with Sandy and her sis Clara. Sandy puts me in mind of my mom. I had told my sister before we met her and she agreed with me. Although we couldn't chat long I can tell you I have met and made 3 very special friends that I would fight through huge crowds to see anytime. Sandy and her sister had walked many many miles in the last 3 days and were pretty much ready to get off their feet. I am so glad I took the opportunity to meet my forum buddies. I'm ready for next year!!!
We hit the quilt in a day store and I bought a couple yards of fabric. Then on our way out of her store we happened on a couple that was selling fabric by the pound. 1lb $5.00 so since I was looking for appolstry fabric to cover some chairs I thought what the heck. I got 3 yards of blue on off white twall and about 3 yards of the prettiest gold and black appolstry fabric I have ever seen. Way heavier than a pound but she gave it to me for $5.00!!!! I will have to post a pic to show yall.
Anyway super duper day. Met 3 more lovely forum friends and got to spend good times with my sis. Life is good.
I just wish it happened more often!!!
Hugs from Ky
Rhonda
