    Default I just redisvovered...

what a great little piecer my 3/4 Janome Jem Platinum is!

I kind of put JJ aside, but recently got her out to play, and I 'm so glad I did..... I'm really enjoying her. Poor little thing has been languishing under my work space.....

I miss JJ's big duster, Judy.... You might remember that I traded in my Janome 2007DC for my Brother Dimplicity not long after my husband died,,,. I'm a trained bereavement minister,,, I knew better than to make a bug decision like that during those first foggy months.... But, I forgot what I knew, and dif it anyway... Maybe I thought a new sewing machine would help in some way ( I was wrong about that, of course)...

I love my Brother...Lucy....but I really miss Judy.... She was a good friend....a great machine.. I should have kept het, and paid the difference... Too late now.

But, JJ is here to keep me Vompsny... My husband helped me buy her.... I think of him when I'm using her.

Sandy, I hope you get back to enjoying you new/old machine again! And that sewing on it will give you pleasure with your creations!
I love my Janome and sometimes think about trading up for another. But my recent trip to the repair shop to get my machine serviced just proved what a workhorse it is ( I have the 6600). The service man said my machine was packed with lint and my bobbin casing was cracked, but yet it sewed like a dream. I've had that machine for at least 4 years and never took it in. I only did it because of what forum members were saying about getting annual service and since I was embarking on a big painting project it was a good time to let her go away for a week. Turns out it was ready the next day and so we weren't apart for long!
My biggest problem is she doesn't have a name! Any suggestions???

She will tell you her name herself! When I got Jack, he screamed it at me!! Jill just calmly told me from the corner. And Matilda, she told me too. In a booming voice, but not as loud as Jack was!
    pat.

Thanks, Eileen. The Jem Platinum is a little small for bigger quilts to quily, but she pieces beautifully... Purs along like a happy kitten.
I do intend to use her more.... She makes me think of my husband, and that 's a good thing.

When I first started quilting, I bought my Janome Jem Gold...which my DD now has.... I didn 't know the first thing about how to use her. It had been many years since I had sewn....

Well... My sweet husband...who never met a mavhine of any kind he couldn't operate, actually tsught me hoe to use my little Jem. That was in 2001, and that little machine still keeps on sewing.

Your machune is certainly a workhorse.... And very reliable.... She needs a solid name... Nothing too girly... I 'll think about it!

You know, they DO tend to let you know when the name fits...

My DH's name is John!! For nurses the name John is always used on the nameless patients like John Doe.
In my life I've always named my dogs with Irish names, Clancy, Shannon, Casey.
So if I had to pick a name I'd probably choose an Irish name.
Just need to give it some thought!!!
