Some Paducah Photos

Several of the pictures I took have already showed up in the link to the show winners. A couple weren't too clear so I've left those off. And, because of the way the quilts were displayed - three in a section and the 'wings' were angled, it was difficult to get a head-on picture. But, regardless of the non-professional status, I'm posting some that 'grabbed' me. Have fun!!

Wow! Amazing. I really like the rainbow one.

Thanks so much for posting these pictures. That rainbow study and the snowy egret were both just stunning. I especially love how the quilter made the egret's chest plumage look as delicate as it is in life. All that talent is both intimidating and inspiring!

April, the last picture was taken just for YOU! It's not really clear, but those are Sunbonnet Sue and Strawhat Sam (or whatever they are called) and they were 3-D applique. Too cute.

What is truly amazing is that some of these (like the kids at play) are made from pieces of fabric smaller than my fingernail. It's so amazing how anyone can work with something that small. From a distance some of them (like the Dahlia) look like photographs.

Just stunning! The snowy egret and the dahlia are outstanding, thanks for sharing. I so wish I could have gone.

The stamp quilt is cool. Those photo quilts are pretty amazing, but I really do like that rainbow color quilt.

Sandy, you're so right - at first you think you're looking at artwork! Amazing talent, my favorite, for the subject matter, is the turkey!!

We also visited a small gallery where this artist had her work hung. I think I could follow her style. Enjoy!!
