Free Motion Machines

Hello, I am looking at purchasing a free motion machine, Juki, Janome or Singer S 16 True straight Stitch, anyone have any opinions?

I love my juki!!! It's been perfect right out of the box. I've had it 2 years and its the one I use 99% of the time. It's not fussy about thread either. I have no regrets!

I love my Juki TL2010Q as well! Wish I would have gotten him years ago!

Thank you, I did test drive the Juki and thought it was great however I have heard the Janome 1600 is quieter, it is confusing but thanks for your reply��

I'm looking at those as well, though not ready to buy yet. Singer is the Janome (this model), but I've no idea if they are identical inside as far as quality, though I'd suspect they are the same. That's next on my list to research. The Juki needs to be oiled a lot through those little holes, and as far as I know the Janome is oiled with lesser frequency.

I see people seeming to like these machines equally. I'm leaning toward the Singer because it costs less.

Well that's where I am now, I just heard about the Singer from my local dealer and he said the Singer is made by Janome, double ball bearings? He said the singer and Janome are exactly the same machine, Singer bought the overrun from Janome. Anyone out there have an opinion on the Singer S16 True Straight Stitch?

I have a Janome 1600 and love it for FMQ.

I have a Janome 8900 and really like it. The 11 1/2" of harp space really sold me.

I bet you won't go wrong with any of those machines. How fortunate you are to get to buy one!
