Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
Hi Everyone Long time no see ......l've got a question if its ok please ..l was wondering if any of you have used the frozen panels to make a quilt ... l bought the panel with the 2 girls on it ....to use it for my niece and l was wondering if l could see some pics of finished quilts to get some ideas ..l was thinking of using plain colors (blenders) that co-ordinate with the color scheme as the fabrics which go with the panel are $20 a metre (1 metre =1.0936133 yards) ...here .... l did consider making a simple coin border in the blenders around the panel and then just bordering the coins to finish it off.. Thanks for any help ...

Re: Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
This is what I did...I wanted an easy border to use with the frozen panel, and quite almost by accident, found an easy but cute border!
i wanted a 3/4" white border to frame the panel, so cut 1-1/4" strips...then I had frozen fabric... I tried laying it out wih the grain of fabric, but didn't like the effect... So I tried on the bias, which gives an alternating Anna and Elsa, and it's almost perfect with alternating Anna and Elsa all around the border... I couldn't have planned it better if I tried!

I think Monique made on for her DGD.
Re: Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
Hi ya! Nice to "see" you!
Yes Monique made one for her DGD. I'm sure you can find it on here somewhere...probably in show and tell?
Re: Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
Kensington made two of them, she made pinwheel blocks to look like snowflakes for her border.
Glad to see you back to quilt making!

Re: Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
Thanks Guys ..Those look great ...l just want something simple and easy and the squares around the panel look great and l'm sure l could find some blenders in the co-ordinating colors to make the border.
l went into the store to buy the fuseable hexagon papers that you iron on and leave in ...so l can make some corner stones for my chevron quilt and saw the panel ....l'm trying to finish what l've started we will see ...Thanks again.

Re: Hi Everyone Long time no see ..l've got a question please
The girls I made mine for are tiny, so I just stuck with the panel with no added borders. I outline quilted the characters and background details, and it went very quickly. My husband is holding up the finished quilt, so that gives a bit of feel for the size. It's plenty big enough for the wee ones. Attachment 107929

Grandma G, I love their names in the border! I might 'borrow' that idea for a quilt I'm working on!
