That is really pretty. If it were mine I would use that rainbow looking batik on the bottom row, third block in from the left.
I would do a narrow (2 1/2") white border and then use that beautiful batik Karen picked.
What's your daughter's favorite in the quilt?
Small white border, smaller binding -- the color of which you want to emphasize in your quilt!
Gosh, I'd probably pick whichever one I have enough of to go around the quilt! Any of them will work. I never go with white borders. I figure it will start looking dirty and it may not come clean in the wash. Some would take all the scraps leftover, sew them together and use that for binding. I'm not one to do that unless I'm really short on fabric and I don't want to purchase something extra just for the binding.
Just wanted to say how gorgeous you quilt is! Choose any color and it will be perfect. I would use a dark color if I was doing it.
This is a beautiful quilt. I think binding only may take away from the triangles at the edges. I would do a narrow border in one of the colors, and then bind in the same color.
Gorgeous quilt! I'd use one of the dark colors to frame the quilt and set off all the other beautiful colors.
Very pretty.
Beautiful quilt! I'm always partial to a pop of red but I think any of the darker colors would work.
Can you go multi-color? Love this whole thing - sew pretty!
I'd use gray or a black and white print for the binding.
Just beautiful! I would do a small black batik border and bind in the multicolored fabric in the block on the bottom row third from the left.
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments and the many suggestions. I have already started to quilt it so I'm not able to add a border :(. Wish I would have thought of that. Also, I used a layer cake for the squares so I didn't have any left over fabric. And try as I might I can't find any yardage for the third one on the bottom row. I like the idea of a light gray or maybe white so as not to distract from the many colors. Thoughts?
Thank you again for all the nice comments. I really wasn't sure how it was gonna turn out.
I think that was the exact layer cake I was thinking of getting for a disappearing hourglass 2 quilt, lol. Very beautiful! Any binding you choose will be awesome.
