    Default Supreme Slider

So I ordered a supreme slider to put on my sew steady acrylic insert table. It really does make the quilt guide nicely along the sewing machine surface. I finally finished the one side of the small lap/wall hanging quilt that I'm trying to get done. Took it off the machine, then decided to check my bobbin to make sure it was full enough to start the long quilting line to the top of the quilt. Checked, have enough thread, then when to put every thing back together. I somehow tore the Supreme Slider slightly near where the acrylic insert meets the free arm of the machine in the back! This thing wasn't cheap! I'm pretty frustrated, especially since this King Tut thread keeps breaking on me.

Well that stinks. I'd be upset too. Those things are expensive, which is why I haven't bought one. I am using an oven liner that I bought at a discount store. It's working pretty well and was kinda cheap. I hope the supreme slider holds up well for you in spite of the little tear.

The Supreme Slider held up to let me finish the quilting. The tear is very small, so hopefully it will not spread. I changed my topstitch needle to a new one (I had started with a new one) and that seems to have fixed my shredding/breaking problem. Now to sew my binding & sleeve on after I trim it up (and pull in all my loose threads!)

I caught my supreme slider in the bottom of my quilt. I sewed the thing right in there. Had to pick it out. Threw the danged thing away.

I damaged my first SS when my Sew Steady Extension Table shifted. It got damaged around the hole. I bought a new one. So far, so good. I'm very careful when lifting it off. I slide my finger under one corner & gently loosen the suction. I lay it aside, sticky side up, when I'm changing the bobbin. After each quilting project, I gently wash it in sudsy water, then rinse, then hang up it with clothes pins on a hanger to drip dry. When it's dry, I place it back in the original package. Sorry you had such a frustrating experience.

I accidentally destroyed my Supreme Slider. It would get loose unexpectedly and I would sew the quilt onto the slider. This happened several times, even after taping it down, and it finally split. I got a silicone oven liner instead. It is bigger and I can more effectively tape it down with painters tape. Even this got loose once and got sewed to, but it will be less expensive to replace if it keeps happening and splits. I even cut a hole so I could change bobbins without taking it off every time. I am pleased with how it slides.
