Default Disappearing 9-patch...only I could do this

I made my 9 block square, cut it in the middle both ways, but cannot for the life of me arrange it so there are no seams to match up. I have at least one seam to match with every block on every row. Does anyone else have this problem, although it's not a life changing problem or is it just me?

I guess it depends on how you're wanting to put it together. When I do mine, it's been a while, the only seams that have to be matched are the little middle corner blocks, and again when you put the rows together, does that make sense? The only way I can think of that you don't have to match seams is if you don't match the inner corners of the block itself.
Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?

The lower image shows how to turn your pieces so there are no matching seams within the block.

My thinking is that you still have to match those cross seams when you put block to block and row to row... never did see the "No seams to match" thing myself. LOL. There is always a seam somewhere.

But, I get what Karen is saying... no seams in the blocks match...

O.K. Maybe I should clarify...when I cut my 9 square block in half each way and turn them and sew them back together every thing is o.k. But when I go to put the disappearing blocks together I always have a seam to match somewhere. I was thinking there were no seams to match in the whole thing as you sew the disappearing blocks together. Does this make sense? Am I wrong about that? If so, I'm going to bop myself on the head cause I have unpinned and re-arranged a dozen times.

Yes, you will have seams after you put the D9P block to block, and you set them row to row.

There are always going to be seams to match when you sew the resewn 9 patches together. There is no way around that.

My first nine patch was all over the place, no rhyme or reason. I was trying not to have prints hitting each other. I stuck it on the design wall without paying attention to the "supposed to way' .

Thank you! I sure wish I had asked this earlier instead of banging my head. I guess I just assumed that since there were no seams to match at the beginning it was that way to the end. When she said, "look at that. No seams to match" my ears must have quit listening.
