    Default I love my LQS.

I brought my quilt top to the quilt store today to pick out a backing. The store was packed, there was a class going on. Their online was out so they were scrambling to ring people up. They stopped everything for a show and tell to see my quilt. Everyone who worked there, the class and all the customers were saying how beautiful it is and they all loved it. Best quilt store ever!

It sounds like you were at my LQS but you live in California and me in Wisconsin, probably too long a commute. LOL Glad that you have a shop like that. I'd like to see a picture too.

I posted in the show and tell, but it looks like it's already a few pages back. Here it is again! The backing I chose is a light yellow cuddle fabric. It's soooooooooo soft! And I know exactly how I want to get it quilted. One person who works at the store, recently had her Costa Maya quilted by the quilter I use. I want it the same way. It's going to be a long wait though, she's about 2 months out, lol.

beautiful quilt,I never would have thought to put those prints together.Looking at your fabric the prints do work,I think my head is just still to particular on what goes and doesn't but seeing it makes all the difference.

lol, I went back today to drop off the top and back to the quilter. I decided to look around and pick out a jelly roll to do a jelly roll race quilt. I ended up getting a different brand of strips, in batiks. Anyway, when she was ringing me up, I asked if the online was working. She said yes, thank goodness, and then she asked me if I was there when they evacuated. I'm like, you evactuated?!? She said they got a gas leak and everyone had to evacuate. Yesterday was a rough day for them, lol.

If I had to do it again, which I already have another Costa Maya planned, I would definitely not go with a directional fabric. I knew with how they were cut that they were not going to all go in the same direction, so I tried to mix them up, but the 4 in the center, 3 of them are going the same way.
