    Default Quilting service

I had MSQC quilt my quilt top and I noticed how stiff or heavy the quilting is. Or should I say too tightly quilted. I'm not sure I like this. I was expecting it to be more of a fluff. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I wash the quilt to relax it a bit? Thank you.

They did a wonderful job quilting my quilt. The stiffness might have to do with the quilting design you chose. I washed my quilt as soon as I finished binding it and that always softens them up.

Some of the quilting patterns are very thread intensive and those will tend to be stiff. The more open the pattern the softer the quilt.
If you chose a thread intensive pattern make a note in the comment section to make the pattern larger which will make the quilt softer. As Karen says washing may help to soften it.

I got one back from them two weeks ago. It did not seem stiff to me. I did wash and dry it after binding, and it is softer and more "crinkly" now. Well done, MSQC!
