Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
There are only 3 stores in the Phoenix area and they are all 35th Ave Sew and Vac. I've always shopped at the store in Chandler and I hate it everytime. I would love to go to Tucson and look at one of their shops but I have 3 young kids and the last thing I want to do is spend 3 hours in the car with them each way and then try to keep then quiet so I can try to buy the sewing machine! I guess I'm out of luck
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
I hope that you can find a dealer that you like. I wish you lived closer as the one I use has been great to work with.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
If the dealer is that bad, you can contact Babylock itself on their web page. They have customer service and contact links at the bottom of the page. Complain.
Babylocks are usually very user friendly. Someone trying an electronic machine for the first time usually has no problems.
Maybe no one wants to learn advanced techniques and the help is bored.
BTW - Babylock has a lot of free tutorials and patterns on their web site.

Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
I know what you mean about dealers. When I bought my machine it was going to be brother or pfaff. I bought the brother because of the sales and service. Pfaff would have charged $100.00 just to look at a machine. I have had my brother dealer fix small problems and not charge for it. No complaints. The only thing is I have to share my machine because my daugher-in-law loves it too.

I love my Crescendo! If you have a brother dealer you could look at the dreamcreator/dreamweaver twin of the Crescendo.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
You know, I was thinking about this some more. I live on an island, a very small island. There is only one store to buy machines. I have no choices. think of Phoenix as an island and just go get your machine and don't pay attention to anything else. I mean your only going to have to service the machine after that. You don't need to make friends with them. as much as it would be nice that clerks in all stores were angels, it's not jgoing to happen. some people are just poopy.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
I really would complain to Babylock itself. The dealer has to be registered to sell the machines. Babylock would not care for much negative publicity. If the store's attitude is this bad and they are losing sales due to attitude, this would also be of interest to the parent company.
Unlike Brother, Singer and Janome - Babylock does not make machines for sale at big box stores. You cannot buy a Pfaff, Viking, Babylock or Bernina elsewhere than a licensed dealer. The TOL Brother and Janome machines are only sold by licensed dealers.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
Wow!! How do these people stay in business? I am so sorry for the way you have been treated. On the other hand, I would go buy the machine from them because I would not give them the power to keep me from having the machine I want. I had a horrible dealer in the last town where we lived--very nonchalant and the sales person was just rude. I bought my machine from them, a Babylock Ellegante 2 and have never been sorry. I LOVE my Babylock!!! Now since we have moved across the state, I have another dealer that I love. In fact, I just bought a Babylock serger from them.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
Pack the kids and hubby into the car and take a weekend/day trip someplace fun for everyone, in a city that also has a different dealer. Perhaps talk to the dealer beforehand on the phone, agree on the price, and make sure he has one packed up and ready for you when you get there so it's a quick in/out. Then on to other fun activities for everyone else.
I don't know how old your kids are, but unless they are tiny, you could make it fun and in the future everyone will remember the trip where mom bought her sewing machine.
Re: I hate the local babylock dealer
