When I bought some pieces for scarves, the lady at the shop used a DustBuster right over the cut as soon as she cut the fabric to get rid of the majority of the fuzz from cutting. That seemed to cut down on the mess considerably!

Blade you get VERY little fuzz. Hope this helps

Keeping the vacuum cleaner right at hand would be an absolute must. Cutting on a table outside on a nice day would work too. The birdies might like the fluff for their nests. What a cozy nest that would make for the baby birds. Using a walking foot is an absolute necessity in my opinion. I've worked with that stuff a few times in the distant past and that foot is the only way to go. Forget 1/4" seams too. Gotta make it AT LEAST 1/2".
