Re: Jelly rolls inconsistent?
I made a 3 Dudes quilt with Halloween fabric, and did not bother trying to match the seams. It comes out so busy, I don't think most people would even notice. But if it does bother you, I've seen where someone sashed each block which looks pretty nice and eliminates the seam matching in general. I was going to do this on one of my future quilts, but I think I will go with the Fence Rail with Diamonds instead. I bought a large bundle of 5" squares on eBay once, and they had all been cut with a machine. The edges were pinked, but it was with those large points. Like you would do with dress making shears. I lost a lot squaring those up after I made my half square triangles. I've made several quilts with the jelly roll strips, and haven't had too many problems with them. I do see a good point in cutting them in half though, just to get rid of that nasty crease in the middle.
Re: Jelly rolls inconsistent?
Hello Everyone, I just started making quilts a year ago and started with jelly rolls ,I always found them to be inconsistent in length and width but not too bad .the only thing that bothers me is having to trim from center to get it even.
