Default Remodeling house, want to decorate with quilts

My subject line pretty much sums it up. We bought our house last year and are finally painting, replacing furniture and floors, etc. I want to decorate more with quilts, I already use table runners, but would like to make wall hangings too, and I lean toward changing things seasonally. What colors should I use in painting in order to not clash with the quilts? Anyone with experience or advice, I appreciate your input!

Seems like a neutral would work best, like a warm off white or eggshell. Then whatever you hang on the wall will look good. You could always add an accent when you see where you end up hanging your decorative items.

I see a lot of soft greys on shows lately. I need to paint my living room and was looking at that color.

I would avoid most any shade of white and go with greys or light carmel.

Think art gallery walls -- they are usually a grey, grey/white, slate blue, or even such a grey-blue that you wonder if it is in the white family. They are also sometimes charcoal, but not sure I would suggest living in a space that has too many charcoal walls.

Another thing to consider: paint the walls whatever your favorite color scheme is because ...

chance are you will naturally be drawn to selecting fabric that has your favorite colors, so your wall hangings will end up fitting right in!

There's a fantastic Sherwin Williams color called Alpaca. It's a nice neutral and looks great in every house I've seen it in. I've had it in 2 houses now, my painter painted her house that color after seeing mine. My mom Just did her new house but had them add an extra bloop of white. It turned a really gorgeous light gray. Check it out!
