Maria - may we assume that is your smiling face at the beginning? I love the black and white quilt with the Japanese writing and the cats at the bottom edge. They are all spectacular. Your photography skills are superb, too!
Thanks so much for sharing. Making my fingers itch . . . what's what happens when I want to fondle and pet fabric.
Re: NEW link for Tokyo quilt photos
thanks for sharing those pictures of an exceptional quilt show. It would be very hard to choose a favorite. And those lovely bags. I just adore them.

Beautiful quilts.
Love the Laura Ingalls Wilder collection. Her Morning Glory quilt is gorgeous.
Of the other quilts this is probably one of my favorites.....

Oh my goodness! What a stunning visual treat! Such an amazing display of talent and imagination. The Peony on the dark background (#54) just took my breath away. (I grow peonies.)
Actually, many of them were a breath stealer!
Thank you so much for showing these pictures. I can only hope I get to attend an exhibition like this some day.
Re: NEW link for Tokyo quilt photos
Thank you for sharing your pictures. What amazing quilts! I am definitely going to take some time to look at them again.
Re: NEW link for Tokyo quilt photos
THANK YOU for sharing, I loved looking at everything. I like the black and white cats under the Japanese characters the best.
It felt like going to Paducah KY in April without having to walk around!
Re: NEW link for Tokyo quilt photos
Thank you for sharing! I loved #107!! Are the majority of these quilts from private collections? Are they made by Japanese women, wives of military, or expats? I found the Little House On the Prairie quilts very interesting. My grandma was friends with Laura Ingalls.
Congrats on your new machine!!

Maria, thanks so much for sharing this fabulous show with us! There are so many gorgeous pieces there, I have a hard time picking a favorite. Like others, I find the cats quilt stunning. And how nice to see the pic of your new machine! Bet you can't wait to start sewing with all this inspiration.
Re: NEW link for Tokyo quilt photos
It is an international show, so anyone can enter. Most were made by Japanese though. Some made by Japanese quilting groups (like the cakes/cups one ) and pieced together. Yes that is me on the first photo! Thanks for looking. I was just standing at some of them close up moving my finger and trying to see how the blocks were pieced. So amazing to get the movement in color from all the smaller blocks put together to make the overall design. WOW. My friends who are non quilters came, they were always impressed by my basic quilts, haha now they know what a beginner I really am!

Thank you for sharing. I was in awe over the incredibly beautiful work. It would be hard to pick a favorite with so many stunning pieces, but I also loved the black and white with the cats.

That is the most magnificent collection of quilts I've ever seen in one place. Every time I found one I thought was my favorite, I would find three more I liked more. There are some extremely talented quilters there....thank you so much for sharing. I've saved it so I can enjoy the pictures again and again.
