Annav, omg, I think I am gojng to be in BIG trouble when I go there! Thanks for letting me know to get there early, now I will plan to spend the day there, and sleep over at my daughters place who is in Sherbrooke. Lol. This is going to be fun! So glad that the DH has something out of town that weekend, he usually makes fun of how excited I get over fabric! Lol. Now I am going to wait to do my quilt back until after next weeks visit in case I find something better. I can always use the fabric I just bought in another project. Lol. Is this how big stashes get started? Lol. Thanks again.

I am not sure the size of chez Helene's store. But it sure has a lot of fabric online. Lots of backing fabrics. I dealt with the husband (I think) with my online purchase. He was great and explained several things I obviously didn't understand when I did a google translate of the site. The site is in French and well, my mind is in English.

The prices are very good for Quebec and the quality is wonderful. I ordered the wrong backing and love it. Mistakes can be a good thing. I still haven't used it but one day I will.

Let me know about the store once you go. It is pretty far from me, but who knows, I have been known to do crazy day trips.

I'm glad you found something to use. I had it, but in more of a red/pink tone.

River momm I will report back after I go for sure.
Momadeb, thank you for looking- it sounds like you must have a very good supply of Batiks, lucky girl!
Tonight I am making flannel two sided baby blankets like M* has in a tutorial. I love them and its fun to have a few done in advance for folks having kids.

I'm going to own my weight in batiks before I die...therefore I continue to eat ice cream so I can keep buying!

Noemie, are you in Quebec city or Drummondville? I will be coming up from Megantic, so Im hoping the roads will be good. If I lived as close as you do to any good fabric stores, I woukd be in big trouble, lol.
Kajenkids, I like your attitude! Add eating chocolate to your idea and its perfect! Lol. I think Batiks are almost too pretty to use, like a work of art.

And what did I just do? Placed an order with Chezhelene! I should have known better than to look at the site.

And even better prices now that I know the tax is included. I guess it's a good thing for my pocket book that I live on the other side of Montreal!

River momm, let me know how you like your order when you get it. I have started a list of what I want already, from needles and thread to fabric. Fun!
