I have looked at that Bosal product but could not understand how you could use and iron it with it being fusible on both sides. I'm glad that is the product they used and I look forward to getting some now!
I, personally, box my corners differently and I don't think I'd like leaving those triangle sections on there.
It's early this week! I can't wait to try the foam on my next bag. Thanks Vanessa and Jenny!
Great tutorial. Love Jenny and Vanessa both! Winning combo. I just ordered the foam from Amazon. Can't wait for Saturday to try it.
I couldn't get to part 2. Has it already been posted?
Their tutorial was very nice. I learned several new things. I like the idea of a bag standing on its own. Karen, thanks for the link for the interfacing.
Looks like really neat stuff for the interfacing. Problem. Didn't they say the dimension of the bag was 18" X 30"? And the interfacing comes in 18" X 58". Trim off the part for the bag and left with 28" X 18". Can't cut a 30" strip for the handles. For me I would want 34" handles.
I noticed Amazon has 36" X 58". You would be able to get 3 bags from it instead of one bag from the 18" x 58". Plus a few straps.
Does anyone know if you can piece the interfacing?
I LOVE this tutorial! Because of you talented ladies I was craving to make myself a tote and was worrying about picking a pattern. Now I really want to make this one! I'll have to study a little to see if I can find a seller in Europe (since Missouri doesn't have it available anymore). It's such an incredible product! Amazing!!! It would be great to make a camera case! I drop my camera too often!
Great looking bag, but same as some others on here, I can not open part two on my ipad :(
So much for not ordering more stuff yet....just ordered the fusible from Amazon.
I think with the fusible, it would be great for placemats or anything that you'd use binding for finishing the edges. You could fuse your fabric and the back side at the same time. The Soft and Stable (similar w/o the fusible) does not require quilting. I don't know if this product does. It would be interesting to know if it does require quilting.
These look like fun bags to make as christmas presents. Can't wait to try them.
Jenny and Vanessa make a great team.......great tutorial! I might have to buy some of that fusible too!
It's out of stock at M*, but I ordered some from Amazon. I thought the dimensions for the body were 15x30, which would give you enough to cut the foam for the straps. I like this bag and look forward to making this AND some zippered pouches. I really like the team of Jenny & Vanessa. IMO, this is the best co-project to date.
I wonder if it would be useful as the body of a purse project. Solid and stiff appearance but flexible. Should look into finding a good resource on that.
I love fossil as a purse maker but the prices! Lol.
Guess I'm late to the party. I like the look of this bag and it would make a cute gift. M* sold out, amazon sold out of the larger size package. I agree with what they mentioned in the tutorial - that it would make a great inner layer for an iPad sleeve. I think I will do that first when I get some of the in R Form.
Pam - I totally agree. They were so cute together. Vanessa is so precise in her instructions and of course our Jenny is the best!
BTW - Just ordered some of that In-R -Form from Amazon. I'm thinking there is going to be a run on that product so if anyone is thinking about getting some I wouldn't delay too long.
Amazon sold out of smaller 18x58 as well. Within 5 min. it went from 11 pieces left to sold-out. I missed it :( Mine will ship when it comes back in stock. Oh well, I'll be busy playing with my new Bernina 750 till then!
Annie's has a few left: https://www.anniescatalog.com/detail...01&cat_id=1739
I did a google image and placed the cursor over the picture to see if it was an on-line store: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...zrWYA#imgdii=_
I'm thinking an easier/quicker way to do the handles would be to cut one 4.5" strip of yardage and then fold over instead of sewing two 2.5" strips together.
If you are looking for Part 2 my thinking is they might be leaving it for next Friday. That could be why the video link is marked Private.
Just my take on it.
Part Two shows up in the upper right corner at the end of Part one y'all. Just wait for it to pop up and prompt it, :D!
Karen, many thanks for not only putting up the new tut, but the link for the product as well! Kudos!
Jenny and Vanessa make for an enjoyable and very upbeat team, not sure who had more fun, me or them in the watching! Hope Jenny teams again with Vanessa sometime soon, great tut, great product!
I found part 2 but it won't play for me, and I'm on a pc. :(
In the you tube comments, Jenny says it will be released at midnight CST tonight!
This is a great tutorial, I love it. It did give me one more neat bit of information though, Jenny and I share a birthday. :) What a fun person to share a birthday with!!!
My computer won't play the second part either. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.
For those of you saying to just click where it says part two, does that mean you all have watched part two already? I, like many others, see where it says that, click on it, and nothing happens. Just wondering if any of you have actually watched part two already.
Janice, yeah, caught the vid (Part I and II) when Karen posted it last night about 11:57 my time.
Carrie, thanks for the reply. That is just so weird why a lot of us are not able to access it. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens - just not a patient waiter sometimes! :(
On the other hand, certainly don't mean to sound like I'm whining either!! I love all the tutorials and am very grateful for them!!:icon_bigsmile:
And Happy Birthday tomorrow Carrie!!!
Love these gals together,,, and follow CG, have for years... she brings all this to the younger generation which I admire... she's clear and concise... has a background in law and in general seems like a good person and Mom,,, just like Jenny! I always leave a comment and lately receive a reply which I think is a nice touch.. (Of course, I'm only at YouTube level),, I don't do FB or the other social media... I'd NEVER get anything done..:) GB
