Are you sure it was meant for a rotary cutter? Or have you been eating Vegemite? (sorry)
Oh no!!! That is some industrial strength rotary cutter, combined with a flimsy mat - bad combo!!!
The mat is supposed to be self-healing, not self-destroying. I would return it or at least ask for a replacement.
By the way, what are you eating? :icon_razz:
Sometimes our mats wear thin in spots. New mat time for you!!!
Could be worse - I cut batting on mine and now it's furry. Lol.

You got some 'splainin' to do Lucy! LOL!
What did you do that for?
Wow, you must be really strong to cut through a matt!!!
With a rotary cutter or scissors?????
You be one strong wommen! And now you get a new mat...and new blades...and new cutter and more fabric.....let's see what else....
Oh Carrie!! I remembered that show ... HILARIOUS!!! Thanks for the post! Made me laugh all over again!! :icon_bump:
Oh, Sheena - and you may want to try the "June Tailor" type of cutting mats. They are hard, unbendable, last a long time, and are supposedly better on your rotary cutter (they're supposed to last longer).
