Default Does anyone have the Viking Husqvarna 1+ machine?

It has been so long since I used my machine and I have forgotten (if I ever learned) how to get something exactly where I want it. I've read my book and finally figured out how to do an embroidery design on the cassette. But what I am trying to do is figure out how to get a name on the cuff of the stocking where I want it. For the cassettes, the book says it always starts in the center of the design. Does this hold true for a name you program in? Or does it start at the beginning of the name? Any hints on how to get it started in the right place so it won't be over to one side or the other? I could kick myself for letting this dream (at that time) machine sit for so many years unused except to mend pants and sew one pillow top. Thanks for any help. I've tried to Google it, but can only find stuff for the newer models.

You might have better luck joining the Machine Embroidery group and asking questions. Our quilters with embroidery machines are more concentrated there.

I had one. If I remember right, the stitches start at upper left. You would program your name and you do it DOWN the fabric, not across.

Easiest thing is to program, stabilize some scrap, and test it. Your other best bet would be to leave some extra room at either end of the embroidered name and cut the fabric to size.

The stitch card is upside down, but the stitch usually starts at the top of the fancy stitch. You would do your letters in the normal fashion but sew them vertically.

I've included settings and 2 other cards. If you are using the large stitches, they had overlays that came with the card.
    Plastic like clear stencil sheets.

Thank you. I clicked on the attachment, but it said invalid attachment. I have a practice piece cut and will work on it. Amazing what you forget when you don't use it!
