Update....and little give away for those who do embroidery :)
Hi there my friends!
I am getting back into my normal routine since Jan is back to work, we are so thankful and happy life is turning around for us again.
On top of that I've got a order to make 7 memory quilts, so I am very busy and my Pfaff is doing overtime :) it feels so good to be back at the sewingmachine again, the lady I make the memory quilts for lost her husband last March and she want all her 4 daughters and her self to have a quiit, she also wants me to make a babyquilt out of the leftovers, so that could become a heirloom when her daughters become mothers....
That makes 6 and I also have to make a quilt out of the clothing from my aunt who past away right before Christmas, her daughter (my niece or cousine never get that) wants me to make her a memoryquilt so that is 7....
I needed batting and orderd online in Italy....nice big box came today, I am planning on using 80/20 Hobbs, I remember Sandy sending me a bag of that when I was putting together Douwe's quilt, and I really liked it, so now I know where to get it for a good price I will stick to Hobbs.
I also orderd a book and some small stuff, and I thought I orderd a fun panel but it turned out to be a embroidery pattern.......so since I promissed long ago to do a give away as soon as Jan found a job, this might be a fun one to give away.
Any of you who do this type of embroidery and would like to have this pattern, please leave a comment or a PM, I will get in touch with you and ship the pattern. (it is the type you draw on muslin and it measures 9" x 14" , you need floss and fabric to make this little hanging that I think would be fun in any sewingroom)
I hope you all have a great week, and I am looking forward reading everything that is going on here again.

Good to know things are looking up for you!!! Good luck with all the quilts you're making, I know they'll be beautiful.
Your aunt's daughter would be your cousin.....at least here in the U.S. that's how it works
Your sibling's child would be a niece or nephew. :)

Re: Update....and little give away for those who do embroidery :)
Oh, I am so happy for you that Jan is back to work. I understand how stressful that must have been. Many years ago DH was laid off work and it was very hard on him. Now he is retired from work for only one week and is looking to have some projects to do. Well, he doesn't realize how much I can find for him to do. LOL
You will be quite a busy quilter, but I am sure all these quilts will be made with love because of the wonderful memories sewn up in them. Good to have you back online. Missed hearing from you.

So glad to hear your update! I know the people who will get the quilts will be so appreciative of receiving the quilts made by you with your fine workmanship! Glad to see you got that big box of batting to get the projects rolling!

So glad to hear that your husband found a job and things are stabilizing for your family. It sounds like you will be very very busy with the commissioned quilts. I hope you find some time to sew something fun for yourself, too.

So happy for you and Jan.... your so deserving of some good luck coming your way... Faith and positive thoughts work every time, I just know it... I hope you can post your progress with these projects... I've done several commissions for these quilts and I can honestly say NOTHING gave me more pleasure. The bonus is hearing the heartfelt thanks and comments from the families... Enjoy!! Oh, and I hope your Mom is doing well..:) Hugs, B

It is so nice to see how happy you obviously are and we are so happy you have these commissions to get you back in the sewing room. I do not embroider so don't include my name in your draw (such a nice thing to give back but for me it would be a waste) but still wanted to let you know that we are happy that life has turned around for you.

((Klasien & Jan)),
Boy do we know what it's like to get that first paycheck again. ;) Glad to hear that spring in your voice, I know it's been a rough time for you two as a couple.
Can't wait to see your quilts that you create, they will be lovely for sure.
Give Jan a big hug and let him know that the Carrot Cake is waiting for him and Cheesecake for you when you come to Atlanta again. Hopefully we'll be in a house with a community with a pool. lol
Huggers, Ruby and Don

Wonderful that life is getting back to "normal" for you and your hubby. As someone who has had my life upturned in the past, I have learned to appreciate normal so much more.
I buy my batting in bulk just like that. When it goes on sale, I buy enough for a year or so.
Have you ever used the Tuscany batting before? I have been interested but have stayed with Hobb's 80/20. Let us know how it quilts. And of course, post pictures of all those quilts!

So happy things are getting back on track for you. We are still pulling ourselves up from my hubby being out of work for 2 years. It does take a toll on you. Looks like you have lots to keep you busy. I also use the Hobbs 20/80 and love it.

How wonderful to read your very positive and upbeat post. You went through some tough times, so it is good to hear all is going well. Great to have the quilter in your back. Looking forward to seeing your creations.

Hi Vicky, no I have never tried the Tuscany before, so I bought just one twin size pack, my daughter likes more fluffy type quilts, and I thought just give this a try.....and this one was on sale :)

I remember your worrisome darker days ... and was glad when you first announced he was selected for the job. And now finding a supplier for your Hobbs and getting that box should make you feel very happy about how things have turned out.
Happy sewing!
