Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Sorry, I won't enable you on this one! I did a class using a pattern from the company that designed that quilt and it was one of the worse patterns I have ever worked with!!!
Just say no!! hee hee.....
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
I am no help at all. I signed up for 4 classes today. I have about 60 plus classes in the last 3 years. I have learned so much from every class including Jennys. I go back to them often just as I do to Jennys tutorials. I say go for it.
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
It would have to be marked lower than $25 to make me even consider it.
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Every class I have purchased was either free, or cost up to 24.99 with the majority being under 19.99 I always grabbed classes when they had the 9.99 sales which was quite a number of them a year or two ago. So, I certainly agree, I am not paying those higher prices, that is crazy.

Thanks for posting this right away! I went and looked and was very tempted now I can feel better about saying no!
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Thanks for the dose of reality. I really mean it. I knew I was in trouble when I felt my heart rate go up. Sometimes I get so excited about quilting I just loose my common sense.
It is a new class and it will be on sale for a better price at a later date. I have tons of patterns already I can make.
I need to get back to budget.
Thanks for some honest feedback. I am pledging in writing to stay strong and buy no more Craftsy classes, patterns, or books until I am back on budget. (Yes I notice I didn't pledge not to buy more fabric, but I am a hopeless fabric addict.)
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
With a little study - I imagine the amazing minds of this community could extrapolate the different blocks from this quilt. It is pretty - and a lot of its prettiness is not from the complexity of the piecing but the fabric selection and layout of the blocks themselves. I may see if I can replicate it using EQ7 and mock it up.
Then again I see half rectangle triangles and I'm not sure I wanna get into any project with more of those (rofl). My storm at sea is disabusing me of them completely XD
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
It's only $10 off which means you will pay $25 on an overdrawn budget. I'd say wait for a better sale at least.
When I looked at the individual components in the quick video there was nothing you couldn't figure out with the help of yotube or your friends here.
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Oh, Denise, I understand the temptation. But, I cannot afford to enable you no matter how much you want this. I could not live with myself. LOL
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
I see you talked yourself out of it! Much as I appreciate your enabling me on other occasions, I was going to say no too -- I hate being broke even more than I love quilting. :)
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
I am also cutting way back on my purchases. Especially after cleaning out my cabinets and finding so much "stuff" that someone must have put in there! Honestly, kits for twelve quilts, not to mention the stash. I really appreciate having all this, but what good is it if I just leave it in the cabinets. Lots of gifts can be made that will be really welcomed by lots of people. Even donations. I think I just gave myself a lecture. Some remind me to read this on a weekly basis please.

Carolyn the same thing happened to me. I am on a serious fabric diet- (unless a really good deal comes alone) LOL
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
I'll tell you it's OK but you have to send me a case of dark chocolate:icon_hihi:
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Have you thought of subscribing to the quilt show? It's a special price of42 for a day or two and you can see all their past shows for up to a year. Different than tuts but usu very good info and much cheaper than craftsy.

I'm thinking you might want to print out your post, make several copies and start taping them all over the place. Maybe, and I'm just saying maybe, it might help you stay on budget...however, just don't be surprised if the taped memos begin to look like decorations and after a while you see right through them.
Re: Am I a Craftsy addict?
Since I am running short of space in my little sewing corner, I have been having to say NO more to new fabric. It used to be that I bought fabric just because I liked it, without a quilt in mind. Now I have so much that I am going to force myself to use my fabric and only buy fabric for my specific projects. Let me tell you M* Daily Deals are so tempting, thats its really tough to stick to it, but my budget will thank me later, lol.
