digging through my scraps to see what I had to make the teeny tiny zippered pouches. Lots of scraps, but who has 20+ zippers and 7 sets of hardware already in their "stuff". Now I have to go get more hardware to work on the other 13 I already have matched up. More shopping at the thrift store or craft store.

Me :). I'm always buying zippers Just In Case. All sizes and colors. I refuse to go count them though. I shoved all the hardware I have in a drawer so can't tell you how much there either.
I have never thought to hit up a thrift store for supplies...interesting.
I look at the bags and only buy the ones that are half off that day and priced $2 or less. there is 2 sets of hardware on the handles and sometimes there is that extra key chain on the inside as a bonus.Quote:

Do buy continuous zips by the metre/yard and just cut to size required. SO much cheaper that way. I have them in lots of different colours.

ok, I made 2 so far. the blue one is cut 5x 3 1/2 like the pattern says. The dark one is 6x 4 1/2. I also discovered that I like the key ring on the one end instead of the closed D ring. I can use the key ring to attach it to the handle of my purse if I want. Can't do that with the closed D ring. That leaves the clip free for other things. You could use the clip to attach too, so not really that big a deal.
I think I will try 5 1/2x 4 and see how I like that size.

Um, I definitely have over 80 zippers... And my hardware stash is growing, thanks in part to thrift stores... How can you beat it when you get a purse for a couple of bucks?

Try working as fabric manager in a fabric store for 20 years and then having going out of business sales.AND then travel for the company for 6 months closing/opening stores and doing remodels... then look at your stash. 'nuff said!
Shhhh, some where in the garage I have a large FR box with nothing but zippers - all different lengths. I won several bids on a night in a Destash FB group. Now if I can only find it, I never unpacked since I have no where to put them in this house. Oy, maybe I can get Kat to help me play detective on Sunday.
But I think I must get these neat YKK zippers: $18 for 50 9" YKK zippers in brights and pastels - my choice. :D

I had to go out and buy a zipper for the computer tote I made for DD this last Christmas. Was sure I used to have a whole tin full of them. Tore the house apart looking for them, then remembered I got into a declutter mood several years ago and that's probably where they went. Now I need to go to someplace and get some before I have a total withdrawal meltdown. LOLQuote:
