Missing from a pack? It say's 42, but there is one missing.. I put them up on my wall to make a quick baby quilt. I'm pretty sure I can find something to sneak in from my stash. I just never had this happen before.

I once had a charm pack that had all 42, but one was cut in half.....so really only 41 whole pieces. I was able to find a scrap that worked, but it was frustrating.
I suppose I'd actually have to use one of my many charm packs to see if all the pieces are here or not! However, the quilt top I finished yesterday was from a kit I bought about three years ago. Well, as I was sewing it together, there was one piece (it was precut into 5.5 x 8 inch pieces) was a good half inch too narrow. Then there was another with a hole punched right in the middle of it!! So I dug thru my fat quarters and picked the ugliest I could to go into the ugliest quilt I'd ever sewn and I think it will be okay. I added the inner and outer borders yesterday and by the time I was done with that, the whole ugly thing had kind of grown on me. I had originally bought it to make for my mom, but decided it was too icky, but I'm thinking now that she will get it afterall. What mom doesn't like a present from her kid, right? I'll keep telling myself that.....
pat.
No rain....no rainbows!
I bought a kit with charms from a LQS that was very frustrating. Nearly every charm had the salvage still attached. Then the backing was 1/2 the stated size. That quilt shop is no longer in business.
Did you check to see if two are sticking together? I've had that happen before.
I've never had that happen, but I have had charm packs with an extra or 2, which really, is almost as bad, because what do you do with the single extra 5-inch square?

I had a pack that had a couple of them cut in half...but for what I was doing I had enough others. But the 1/2 one was one that I really liked.
I just used a layer cake and one was cut in half....but there were still 42 whole ones in the pack.

I work to support a sewing habit that I don't have time for, because I work!
Grrr... that's a frustrating problem to have!! I would imagine it would be even worse if it was a charm pack you've had in your stash for a while and now is not available to purchase... making getting a replacement or purchasing extra yardage nearly impossible
Hope it's just that two are stuck together for you....
