It would be interesting to know how much it would cost to send half a charm pack or layer cake (or jelly roll).
Kaydee, I actually really love working with those little charm packs myself. I'd go insane if I had to find all those patterns and colors. I rarely find some that don't fit in nicely. For me they are a cheaper way to try out design/color before I invest the extra money into something larger. Also, for me, running out to the post office is right up there with going to the dentist or doctor LOL

I'd be mad if the squares weren't large enough to cut on the Sizzix. I find I prefer charms over Jelly rolls. Easier to cut a charm with a die cutter than a jelly roll, and there seems to be a lot more variety in the Charms. I'm really enjoying playing with the Candy and similar patterns. Can work on skills using scraps and maybe still turn out something useful.

I tend to stay away from pre-cuts because I rarely like the way all of the colorways work together.

Eleanor Burns beautiful floral line from Bentartex is now selling pre-cuts in separate colorways!

    It is awesome!

I love Ellie Ann, and have several charm packs, but I NEED several packs because I do not like the pink and purple and peach all together in one quilt. With several packs I can separate the colorways.

Her newest line is wonderful! You can buy pre-cuts in JUST the colors you want! Gorgeous, coordinating prints, and you get several of each. Very flexible.

I sure hope more manufacturers start to do this.
(maybe they already have and I just haven't noticed yet)

I did my bedroom in Ellie Ann. I just bought a Zoey JR because I know a little girl named Zoey that needs a quilt. I love Eleanor's fabric.

I love pre-cuts - I purchase a lot of them - I love them for the variety and I don't have to think about what fabrics go with what - also when I finish a project I often get the compliment "you are so good with color" - well my secret is pre-cuts - it takes all the guess work out of the equation. Also, I tend to stick with Moda, Riley Blake and Robert Kaufman brand - I love their collections and I've never had a problem with wrong sizes or anything else. I buy them on the internet at all kinds of places - I only buy them on sale never full price.

Yeah, the name or the first picture on the pack can be deceiving, but that's why I always look at the full color swatches before I buy them. For me it's either too many darks, too many lights, or too many stripes.

I think you are on to something though - charm pack buddies! Or just post that you've got part of a such&such charm pack and want to sell the rest. Maybe create a group called Charm Pack Parts or something.

No selling allowed on the forum.

Because they have *got* to be running out of names for collections! Maybe the manufacturers could slow down just a teensy bit and their designers could come up with more creative names :-)

It's actually called Glorious Hummingbirds, I assume named for the hummingbirds and morning glories.
