FINALLY, IT'S HERE, A REAL SEWING SPACE FOR ME!!
My Sewing Armoire has arrived - actually it came yesterday!!!

My Mr. was heading out to get coffee (a daily trip . . after we've already had mornin' coffee), a 2nd cup 'cause he swears Wawa's coffee has cocaine in it, or at least something addictive, that he can't do without! Anyway, he comes back in fm the garage saying there's 2 huge boxes in the driveway blocking him in. So, back out we go n' realize by the size and weight - - - it's my sewing cabinet!!!!
Together we haul them into the dining room. Didn't unpack them yesterday - had to clear the space in the bedroom for it. So today I open Box #1, it was so heavy just left it in the D/R floor and started unpacking it. I now know why this cabinet was priced so reasonably. All the work gets done by the Buyer!! OK, maybe that's not a bad deal!
I get the instruction booklet and read while I'm sharing our 2nd cup of addictive coffee . . . . . CAUTION, first must inventory to make sure all parts are included . . . . 2 pages with 49, yes 49 pictured and numbered different parts, some multiples, especially the screws!!! Well that took more than an hour because there's 'one million' screws . . . OK, there's a whole lot of screws . . . to be counted, separated and marked because 'CAUTION- be very careful to use correct screws because using wrong size could damage part' . . . . then many structure parts to identify and check off the list . . . . then 5 sets of 'sliding extension mechanisms!!
I've always thought of myself as 'mechanically minded' 'n my Mr. is/was engineer in his work . . . but neither of us could logically understand how all these sliding mechanisms were to be used!!
I get on the phone with mfr. and surprise, surprise, got their "Jeanie" (glory be, she had been trained how to put these units, sliders in particular, together) - how great is that?? She very patiently spent a good hour or more with us by phone (speaker phone for both of us mechanically challenged folks) and in great detail explained as we put "all" these sliders where they belonged. I was impressed with Jeanie AND this mfr, Sauder!
Tomorrow we can complete this project and see if this cabinet is gonna work for me!! There you have it, I now hopefully can get busy QUILTING!
NC sayin's from my mama n' daddy, a reminder, lest I forget:
~I’m gonna tan your hide. (You’re about to get a whoopin’.)
~set yourself down a spell ~~every day of the week n' twice on Sundays
~knock you clean into next week n' then some ~~deader than a door nail
~can't get blood from a turnip ~~your neck o'the woods
~You're just playing possum (pretendin' to be asleep when you didn't want to get up n' go to school)

Love the way you can turn frustration into a funny story. Hope the armoire is "all that" and a bag of chips.

Definitely, pictures to come. I could send pics of the ONE MILLION SCREWS if you want?!?!?!?! I'm excited to get it together and get my machine set up . . . still not crazy about the finish, but when I get it loaded up, you probably won't even see the finish!
Sylvia, finding the humor in it hails back to my daddy. Eons ago he wrote me about being in a VERY serious auto accident, but his closing line was "I could fall in a barrel of **** and come up smelling like a rose!" Sorry for the s___ word but my daddy was not politically correct!! As to the cabinet, speaking to this mfr.'s Jeanie" melted my frustration, every company should have a Jeanie!! just like our Jennie!!!

I put a huge Sauder desk together by myself one week. Took me three nights after work! You are right....there are at least a million screws, maybe more! They do go together nicely though.
pat.
No rain....no rainbows!
