Our experience by phone with their CS girl was impressive, too. I wasn't surprised with the complex assembly . . the reviews detailed that but everyone praised the instructions and end result of the cabinet - so I'm expecting to be happy with it.

Congrats on getting it all together.. both physically and mentally. YOU ROCK.... Me? well I have a DD who loves to put my stuff together... and she does a good job of it- saving my back and sanity.
I love Sauder products - we have several in our home too!
Can't wait to see pics of your finished sewing cabinet!! Lucky you!!!![]()

Quilting is my passion . . . chocolate is a close second!
Quilting cabinet assembly: Attachment 97383 Here's where it all started yesterday . . . this was Box #2 (ea box appx 100 lbs!) which we unloaded pc by pc putting all bagged parts, including screws (1M pcs, I kid you not, well maybe I'm exaggerating . . a little) on the kitchen table . . . knowing fm the instructions that we(I) needed to count, categorize and separate them (I used empty medicine containers . . hmm, I'm so glad after spending all that prescription $ I could use those 'dern' little empty bottles!) At least I could sit at the table to do it and have a cup of coffee as we began our furniture assembly!!
We then put big cabinet parts in the bedroom where this cabinet is going to live . . . space being at a minimum, we put some on the bed . . . . some on my easy chair . . and the very biggest parts on the floor and standing up against the walls!! Can't you just picture this . . . . two 'old folks' to be stooping, bending and . . alas, crawling around in the floor - - an absolute 'booby trap' in the making!!!
I'll leave out the part about having to move what was on the bed somewhere else to be able to go to bed (that was 3 am this morn!)!?!?!?!?
So now today, Day 2 - We read and adhere to instructions religiously! We "pushed Twist-Lock Fasteners into Fixed Shelf D and Bottom E" . . . AFTER . . . I run to the kitchen, identify "Twist Lock Fastener" and race back with them to B/R where the FS D and FS E are!! We fasten the left molding "U" to the left end "B" using Black 2" Pan Head Screws "YY" . . . run to the kitchen, identify B2"PHSs "YY" and race back with them to B/R where left molding "U" and the left end "B" are!! All this, as well as stooping, bending, and yes, crawling around in the floor!!![]()

Wish I'd made a video . . he helps me up off the floor . . . I help him up off the floor . . . Second thought NO video, it would be embarrassing . . . but it could have been a Lucy show, but in their golden years . . . and would have been funnier if it didn't hurt so much to laugh!! Picture same scenario most all day . . . we persevere, with a break here and there . . . and a giggle spasm or two and here is our progress to now![]()

Tomorrow we'll put the doors on and finish it up . . . that is if we can stand up straight without 'screaming in pain' from sore muscles! All things considered, the instructions were 'spot on' and holes drilled where they were supposed to be . . . we did have a goof or two but easily corrected. After all my worry about the exterior finish, it's not bad at all, color wise blends right in with the wall color which I like.
Some of you asked for photos, so here ya go and I also made an album with more to document the assembly. I'll be kind and only give you a couple more when it's complete with the doors. That's my story and I'm 'stuck' to it!

It looks great. You guys did a fantastic job putting it together.
I feel your pain with the million screws. I've put together Sauder items before and they certainly do come with a lot. Last weekend I put together a new TV stand, you know, one of the modern looking, glass shelf ones for the flat screen TVs. Well, the brand was Whalen and you would have thought I was building a house with all the screws, nuts and bolts that came with it! I didn't expect that many since it is a basic metal frame with glass shelves. The really cool thing about this brand - the screws came sealed in a long plastic type bag and each different set of screws, nuts, and bolts was sealed into its own little section of the bag and labeled! It was great! Didn't have to sort through them, just pull them out as needed.
It looks like you have the construction well under way, so far!

That is looking great! We have also put together many Sauder projects and they may be confusing with a million pieces, but they always go together and have extras of the screws and tiny pieces. I like that as they have a tendency to roll away.![]()

A bad day in the sewing room is better than a good day at the office.
Judy, today as we were assembling the cabinet I was wishing I had your DD's # - and that she lived in NJ, I'd a been tempted to call her. Actually my daughter offered to help us but just not during the weekend . . . she'll be happy we got it done! We did have some fun doing it . . and kinda proud of our progress. I think I'm gonna like it . . a lot.

Carrie, thanks for your post and saying my dad reminded you of your dad - seems we were both very lucky with dads. My dad has been gone for a lot of years but I'm reminded of him every day for some 'word of wisdom' or his unique sense of humor. If you don't still have your dad, you'll know what I mean.
My Mr. and I spent much of the day "building the cabinet" - we laughed, we puzzled thru the instructions, but it was worth it, I like it a lot. Tomorrow we'll put the doors on and it'll be ready to "load it up" - that's the part I'll enjoy most!![]()
