Repurposing other craft supplies
I am a new quilter (just started in September). I used to be an avid scrapbooker so I have TONS of scrapbooking supplies. Well, I just don't have enough space in my craft room for all of those supplies and now all of my quilting supplies! Today when I was going through stuff and trying to throw things out (we all know how hard that can be!), I came across a bunch of old paper-piecing patterns for scrapbook pages... and ding ding ding - it occurred to me that I could use these paper piecing patterns (really cute ones, too!) as applique patterns for quilts! I was tickled to death that I was able to find another life for these and then started looking at my other crafting supplies with new eyes. I have a bunch of stencils that I used for scrapbooking - again - ding - ding - ding - same thing! Great for cutting out applique shapes!
Anyway, just wanted to share my discovery and hopefully inspire someone else to start thinking outside the box when it comes to their crafting supplies!
