New machine!

I took the plunge and ordered the Husqvarna Viking Opal 690q sewing machine that was on special. It will be shipped from NJ to me in CA. Still waiting for the shipping notification (they say it could take 3 days to process.) I am so impressed with all the features this model has. Also looking forward to the 8" space "to the right of the needle." I want to order the Sew Steady table to go with this (it's on eBay) but I want to wait for my UPS ground tracking number before I do that. With my luck, I will get a notice from the sew center that there was a problem with my order and I won't be getting my machine! Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think there might be a couple people on the forum that have the Opal, maybe they will show up to give you some pointers. I agree with you on the extension table - as soon as I would order early something would happen to delay the machine.

I am really enjoying my Sapphire machine so far and hope you enjoy your new Opal! If you purchased it from Viking/Husqvarna, be sure to register for their loyalty program. You will receive points for your purchase and can apply them as a credit towards your Sew Steady table, if you purchase it from Viking/Husqvarna. That's what I did and I think my out of pocket cost was about $30.
