I have one of those - a disappearing hourglass. It was intended for my lovely DIL. I used a lovely Kaffe Fasset layer cake. Pehaps it was that the backgound fabric was a little too pale for my liking. Maybe it was that major attack of shingles I had while I struggled womanfully on. And no matter how carefully I cut and pieced, those baby hourglasses didn't work out to my satisfaction. It even made it to the LAQ before I realised I couldn't give Belinda a quilt that I did not feel good about. I grabbed it back just before it was to be quilted, and now it is waiting to be chucked.

If that happens to me again I will cut my losses and start again. I will use any future ugly ducking to make my cats a new cushion cover - before it gets too big.
Another one burned by Kaffe Fassett! That fabric is so beautiful but so hard to work with. BethEmily, if you post a picture someone might have a suggestion for quilt rescue! These forum people are full of good ideas.
