My Featherweight is Emma; Pfaff Ambition - Phoebe; Serger - Polly (after the lady I got it from); the Brother my boys gave to me in the 90's - Bro (of course); a Dressmaker we found in the basement of my sister-in-laws after she died - I called Agatha - for Agatha Christie because it's a mystery as to why my sister-in-law had a sewing machine - she never sewed a stitch. I also have a Singer that was my Aunt Anna's that I call -- wait for it -- Anna. And there is a White sewing machine still at the house I grew up in that was my paternal grandmother's which I call Bertha because that was her name. The last two don't work -- or at least I can't get them to work yet.
My Juki 2010 is named Beatrice. She is so helpful to me!
I have three sewing machines and one embroidery machine. The only one I have named is my Featherlite 221, she is Bernice Jean. I have never thought about naming the others.
MY Viking is called Baby, Janome I call Kitty because my granddaughter decorated her with Hello Kitty stickers, old Singer from the eighties is Pinkie because she is pink and my old Singer from 1960 is Old reliable. My New Royal from the eighteen hundreds I haven't named yet because am still in process of restoring her. My serger is just Serge.
I don't have names for mine yet, as I don't name things. Yep, my car and laptop are all nameless objects also. We did name our servers at work - I named all mine after the monsters in Ahh! Real Monsters (Ickis, Oblina, Krumm, Gromble, Snorch, Zimbo) while the guys named their after cars or Star Wars characters.
But it would be nice they did have names. Then I could say Antonio and I are in the car. I gotta tell you what Fabio and I did last night.... I just got to find names now....
I've never named my machines. 1 janome 6600, 1 janome embroidery machine, 1 janome serger.
I need help!!

Singer 1952 model 128 electric is Phyllis
Singer 1957 Featherweight is Ellie
My Janome 7700 is named Darcy. My Janome Memory Craft 350E embroidery machine is named Elizabeth. However, if either one starts to give me trouble I may have to temporarily rename it Wickham!! Fans of Pride and Prejudice will understand...
I had never named anything inanimate till I came here, you all are such influences you know? it started with my new machine I got for Christmas a babylock Jane. Since I now had two I started saying to DH oh I am working with the Baby Jane right now when he would ask. My Pfaff 2140 started being naughty and I told it since it was being such a @H@H I would just go play with Jane. Then I started giggling about about having fun with Dick and Jane as I had just seen that movie the other night when I was flipping channels and then I was like oh heck I just named the Pfaff Dick!
Its off to be serviced but now every time when I start to talk about it I no longer refer to it as the Pfaff lol
