Prayer shawls, quilts, bed jackets, foot runners are used here in my area frequently. And yes, if y'all took a moment and prayed for your friend and her family, it is definitely a prayer quilt. All of the lap quilts we make for the elderly in the local Nursing Home are all prayed over. As most of them have no family, it makes for such a wonderful Christmas present for them.
