Paula, don't be discouraged. I love Karen's idea of taking them to the local FD or PD. You are doing a good thing no matter who you give them to...think smaller than SA...maybe check with a local woman's shelter.

I would check for women's shelters in your area -- I know the one here in Sacramento would welcome anything for babies.

Thanks! That occurred to me, but I didn't know Salvation Army did that sort of work.

I also was going to suggest a crisis pregnancy center for quilts for new moms. Also, if you google Linus Project, you probably will find a chapter in your area. They love to get quilts. I'm sure you'll find a loving home for all the quilts you made with love.

Re: kinda discouraged.
what a great idea, to give to the police and fire department.......... and also for the places who help those of domestic abuse !! When the people flee and hide from a domestic abuse situation, they often have very little with them. My local Soroptomist group has a baby shower once a year for those in need. YOu might want to check out your local Soroptomist group.

Re: kinda discouraged.
I agree with those who have suggested shelters for women and children who have left a dangerous home, many times with little else than the shirts on their backs. We have one in our town that takes all kinds of donations. I'm sure a blanket would be a welcome comfort to kids who are very confused and need warmth. Bless you for your kind heart.
