They Arrived; Safe, Sound and Beautiful

Earlier this week I posted that I was worried that the mail may have delayed the delivery of my quilts from the M*. Well they ARRIVED!! All 3 of them and the quilting is beautiful. I love them. Now, I just have to get the binding on but I don't think they will be completely finished by Christmas Day. I have quite a few other things to do before Christmas as I am hosting our family meal. I have machine sewn the binding on two and depending who is around decides which one I will work on.

So that is 5 twin size quilts made for Christmas (or shortly thereafter).

Tomorrow we will take some pictures and I'll post them. I just too tired to do it tonight. I went to visit my parents this afternoon and made them supper. I got their Christmas shopping done (for each other) and wrapped and now delivered. Just got home and sitting down and having a decaf. then a little more binding before bed.

So glad to hear they arrived safely. I was wondering about that earlier today as I was waiting on a package to arrive in the mail. Enjoy the holidays with your family.

Thank you for babysitting Bernice. Please tell the ladies/gentlemen in the quilting area, Thank you, for me. I love them. The quilting looks gorgeous. I appreciate all the wonderful stitches from the M* quilting professionals. Please wish them a Merry Christmas for me.

It is also very exciting for me to have some quilts that were actually quilted in Hamilton at the M*QC. The kids won't know what that means right now but for sure they will know how special that is for Grandma.

BTW my quilts left Hamilton on the 9th of December and I received them on the 19th. The delay was that they were stuck in Chicago for 5-6 days then went to customs. I think someone fell asleep at the wheel in Chicago or got cold and need to use the quilts. LOL>

I had wondered how it works in terms of customs when you have you quilt returned. Did you have to somehow register that the quilts were yours before you sent them to the states so you only pay tax on the quilting part?
