    Default Happy Buying

Yes! Today was my only free from work day in December (of course being sick I was at home 6 days, plus we take turns so I had a few mornings off work) so I dedicated myself and DH to Christmas shopping and...

    FABRIC SHOPPING OH YEAH!

You see, even if I work in a haberdashery that sells fabrics I've always wanted to visit the other shops in my city but having all the SAME working hourse you can easily understand how impossible this is!

Well first stop was in an historical fabric shop where my DH's grandma went to buy fabrics years and years ago. OMG they had a GREAT selections of fabrics, I wanted to buy EVERYTHING! But I can't, so...

I chose the snowflakes/music themed fabric and my DH the Xmas' one! Guess next year I'll sew ornaments with the fabric he chose

Then in the afternoon we went in another shop a little outside our city, in the window there were the loveliest Christmas slippers EVER! OMG! I was already thinking a lot about making myself quilted slippers, I guess this is sign from Fate: Julia, let's make them!

Inside there was really a GREAT selection, even better than the other shop. So many gorgeous fabrics sorted by color... and so many great designs, more toward things I've seen Jenny using. I have no idea how I could decide to buy just what I needed in that moment! I was crazy with excitement!

The purple with white dots fabric was necessary for a commission for a friend. You'll see the final result The pack with three fat quarters was a must buy: it was on discount and there were snowflakes on each fabric!!! YES! I'm collecting snowflakes fabric for a future project!

Just wanted to share my excitement with you ladies because I'm sure you'll understand

I love seeing what's available in other countries. I'm interested in knowing where the fabric you can buy is manufactured. Most of the fabric we get in the States is from Japan and China. I believe there is only one American manufacturer of cotton quilting fabric now.

    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I'm from Trieste, you can say it's near Venice 'cause it's 2-2 1/2 hours by car away!

Well here I buy American imported cottons but I guess as most things made nowadays they're probably manufactured in China.
I'll give a look at the fabrics that we have in the shop where I work

I was stationed in Italy for 3 years. I loved the time I spent there and traveled all over the countryside. Unfortunately, I wasn't quilting at the time so I did not buy any fabric while I was there.

You're not alone! I lived one year in Vermont and I wasn't quilting back then so I bought NOTHING! ARGH!
By the way I use American cotton imported from US so... I guess you didn't lose much
