Default Fabric.com has lost me now

Well, I am still totally happy with the way I handled things. Just want to say, I was not looking for kudos, but I loved the support from everyone as we all do know the right way to do things and what makes our worlds a better place to be.

Twice now they have not had my fabric in stock (so they say). I checked on my orders several times and there was still always plenty of the fabric left of which they say is now no longer available (well one was in small pieces not equaling my order anyway). We are talking about only 4 and 5 yards. Especially this second one, just yesterday there was still over 100 yards left. I was even thinking of ordering more. Then I get an email today saying it is out of stock. Cant even find the item on their site now.

I was patient with the waiting times, I know it is the holiday. I like the fabric, no issue there. Then the duplicate order which they have no way to charge me so I could keep it. So now they owe me money.

I let them know both times they could resolve the issue by allowing me to keep the duplicate order and pay the difference - no response. I do not at this time seeing myself as a customer of theirs in the future. I can except issues/errors to a point. But this is a bit much with only two orders ever placed with them.

We will see what their response is, if they respond.

So sorry you are having so much customer service issues. Yes, it is the holiday season, but this should not be an excuse for ignoring you. Have you called and actually spoken to someone? Sometimes the personal touch is all that is needed. Will keep you in my thoughts while this sorts itself out.

They are not necessarily ignoring me. I am disappointed in all the out of stock issues. They had way more than enough even listed after I ordered. When they get to mine, it should not be out of stock. They have been sending emails about being late and all, which I was ok with. I am not ok with things all of a sudden being out of stock and disappearing from the site.

I have placed 2 orders with them, and there was problems with both orders. The 1st order problem was taking care of and I was happy with the result. The 2nd order I was very unhappy with the result, so I will not order from them again. I hope you have better
    luck with them.

Websites do not necessarily show the correct amount of fabric in stock. If they take orders in the order that they come, by the time they get to your order, they may have sold out. Hancocks of Paducah is one in particular that comes to mind. It is your choice to do business with them or not. There are plenty of sites to patronize, you do not have to put up with this if you don't want to.

I will no lomger do business with them based on what has occured these last two days. As for being sold out, either they need to delete as it goes, or make a notice on there site stating what I order may not really be there. And to be honest, if any site made that statement, I would not order from them in the first place. Most sites do not operate that way, so yes there are plenty of places I can order from. Going through these types of things is the only way to learn the good from the bad.

It seems fabric may be cheap there but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I got what I paid for along with some bad vibes. I will always be more than happy to tell folks where the good places are to shop and also where to steer clear from. I place a lot of trust and faith in fellow forum members. If several people come on here and say bad idea for something, I most likely will listen to their advice.

That being said, I would never tell anyone not to,do something because of what I said. Based on what you mentioned, it is probably a good idea to take Handocks of Paduch off my list. Have never tried them and now I probably will not because I do not want to go through this again. I love good advice.

I agree they have no idea what customer service is or should be its quite simple to keep an accurate control of stock!!!!enter code
then as stock is sold automatic deduction 4 key strokes!!
for goodness sake we could do it manually on fabric rolls so why are these firms who sell vasts amount of fabric so inefficient

I am sorry, Karen that you were disappointed with them.
The blue batik fabrics for Paul's quilt came from Fabric.com. I also turn to Fabric.com when I am looking for a specific item like pink teacups, frogs, bicycles etc. They have the largest selection of fabric by yardage, free shipping at just $35, and on one occasion I received more fabric than what I ordered, since it was the end of the bolt. No extra charge. I have had no problems with them.

I've ordered from them and only had minor problems.
At this point I would not be sending back the box you got that was duplicate.
I would send them an email that you want a customer service rep to call you and discuss your individual issues.
Once you get a satisfactory response then you can either send back the box or get the items you want to keep paid for and return the rest, or just pay for it all! There is NO reason that they cannot correct your order and get it squared away!
You've done everything right. You notified them of their error. Now it's their turn to fix it in a way that works for you!

Sorry you are having such an issue with them! My personal experiences with Fabric.com have always been good (in that I got what I ordered in a timely fashion). But I can understand your frustration with them. I hope it all gets resolved soon for you.
