One of my sisters-in-law turns 60 next year. When she saw the quilts I made for two friends who turned 60 this year, she informed me of her upcoming birthday! So I have been trying to decide what pattern to make and what fabrics to use.

I have been toying with the idea of using only mottled batiks for a quilt, sort of a not-solid solid. The pattern I am going to follow is from Material Girl Quilts, her Layer Cake Sampler. Her instructions call for two layer cakes. So I turned to M* having read so many posts from all of you about all their wonderful precuts. Thanks for your experiences.
